Dawson's Birthday Party!

It went so great! We had a pirate party. We made telescopes, had a treasure hunt and ate a pirate ship cake. I was quite proud of that. I suck at cakes but thanks to some tips from my friend Shanna, I actually did a decent job. Anyways here are the pics!

Dawson was reading "Are you my mother?" to me tonight...it is one of his favorites. Anyways he read the whole thing himself. I started thinking back and remembered it was the first book I read to him when he was like 4 days old and here he is 6 yrs old now and reading it to me. I started tearing thinking of how sad yet happy I am he is so big and how proud I am of him and then he just looked at me like I was nuts.

I am also so happy because Mike and I are both dyslexic and it looks as though it skipped him. I am more dyslexic with numbers and directions and Mike is w/ reading. So it seems he has both of our stregnths and non of the weaknesses.

Dawson's bday was great!

My boy is 6. He had a great bday. I woke him up and fed im a pancake breakfast. Then I came down to visit his class and brought cookies for the whole class. He was so suprised to see me. I was quite proud he didn't know I had came in and I saw him sitting at his desk quietly and quite focused, working on his art project. He is a great boy! Emmalee loved going to his class and was sad that she couldn't stay.

Then he came home and opened his presents. I will let the pictures do the talking on that. He was very happy and we got an awesome deal on the ipod shuffle we got him..$24 including shipping! He was estatic about that.

Then it was off to Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a blast. I wish that I got more pics of him, but he was off like a light on his own to play once we finished eating. It is weird that he is that old. How did it happen.

Lastly we came home and had birthday cupcakes and sang to him. Then each of us went around and mentioned a few things that we each love about Dawson. He was beaming and really liked that.

He is a great kid and so cute and caring. I am so glad and so blessed to have him and Emmalee and Peyton as my children.

Here are the pics! I can't wait till his party on sat, I willbe sure to get tons of pics!

Happy Birthday Dawson!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My first baby will be 6 in less than an hour. I don't know how time went by so fast. It seems like just yesterday I held him and looked in his eyes for the first time and instantly fell in love.

He is such a sweet, good kid. He is always thinking of others feelings and loves to make other laugh. He is fun and so smart. He loves to read, play computer games and much, much more. Dawson I love you! I pasted an entry from my journal that I wrote about his birth.

The Birth Of Dawson Michael Price
Dawson was born on 8/13/2001 @ 12:19 am
He weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long

The last trimester of my pregnancy was very slow, since I was on bed rest for most of it. It was a very special time though. I loved to feel Dawson move around. I especially loved when I could see my stomach move. Mike and I would spend lots of nights talking to Dawson and trying to make him move my stomach.

I knew for a few months that I would be having Dawson early because of my pressure problems. So I was so excited when I got the call to come down to the hospital to have my baby. I started crying a little. I came to the hospital scared of what to expect during delivery. I was very fortunante because I had a very easy and safe delivery. I had been dialated to 4cm for a few weeks (without going in to labor), so I had an advantage right there. Once they gave me the pitocin ( to put me into labor). I quickly got the epidural so I never felt too much pain. I just remember having the shakes a lot (which really scared me. I was very fortunate to have my mom, Tiffany Larsen and Lanae Udall in there with Mike and I during the labor (everyone but Mike and my Mom left during the delivery). All in all my labor was only about 5 to 5 ½ hours. And then We had our little Dawson. I was such an incredible feeling to see him. I remember crying and just feeling so peaceful. He came out with the biggest pouty face. He wasn't crying too much at first so that scared me a little. But he was just fine! It is amazing how much love you have for your child from the moment you lay eyes on them. He was so perfect. He had a headful of hair (which he later lost!) and big, big eyes. He is the most beautiful baby. After a few weeks mother hood was not scary (once I got the hang of it) It has been such a wonderful time in my life. I love Dawson so much. He is such a special person. We are very fortunate that he has been a really easy baby. He has slept through the nite (12 hours) since 2 ½ months, he hardly ever cries and when he does it's not for very long. He is always happy. He wakes up smiling. Where he inherited that I will never know. He is so much fun, always smiling and giggling. Everybody always comments on howcute, happy and good he is. I feel so lucky to have him as my son. I look forward to having many more children with Mike. Having Dawson has made my love multiply so much for Mike. I love him so much. He is truly my best friend.

Pics and Peyton would like to show you something!!!

My baby is getting big! He sometimes can sit up without the boppy and stay like that for a few seconds, but I feel safer w/ the boppy. He is gonna be crawling so soon, it scares me. He can army crawl just a tiny bit but he gets frustrated and stops because he doesn't get around too fast.
Emmalee went to her friends house today and they played with her ariel makeup, lol. Pretty huh? lol

Emmalee made a tent and went camping in the den. It is the underlayment we use for our wood floors, lol.

Sorry it's been a while....

I have been so dang busy lately. I have been getting ready for Dawson to start school, getting caught up on housework, doing some bracelet orders and my poor Peyton has thrush. He has been quite fussy, but today is so much more himself. I feel so bad for him. I have also had a heavy mind on a matter, so it has been hard to get on and I have been trying to find the words to explain my feelings at this time.

Well to start Dawson started school on Wed 8/6. Here is a pic of him before we left for the bus:

He was so excited. The night before school Mike finally cut his hair! He wanted to grow it out for summer. I personally like it short and clean cut better. I am a mom though, lol. Then he gave him a beautiful Father's Blessing. I am so greatful to have a husband who is a worth priesthood holder and is always happy to give a family member or friend a blessing whenever it is needed. Then we caved and gave him one of his birtday presents: a camoflauge backpack, lunch box and water bottle. I couldn't wait till his bday to give it to him. It seemed to make him even more excited about going.

Well the next morning he was up and ready so quick. I asked him if he would like me to take him to school and walk him to class for the 1st day like I did for kindergarten and he said no, he wanted to ride the bus with his friends. That made me a bit sad, my baby is growing up.

I really like his teacher. He is really organized, seems very fun and is very motivating. He has a reading olympics program and has challeneged each student to read a book w/ mom and dad for 15 minutes a day. Dawson is determined to do this. Each month that they read on almost every school day they get a toy or candy prize. The first one to read 50 hours will get an award at the end of the ward assembly. Tis means reading even on the weekend. Dawson is so wanting to do this. I am so glad he loves learning so much.

I have had a heavy mind the last few days. One of my friends I have known for many years has decided to leave the church. It has really hit me hard. It started that she was trying to find for herself that the Book of Mormon was true. She began wanting "proof" not just faith. So as I understand she began to look at anti stuff, which is so full of inaccuracies. I guess she was still praying and asking for proof, but in honestly it seems like she was looking for it to be wrong instead of looking to see if her heart felt it was right. I have always learned that you could search the daylights out of religious topics or scientific topics and "validate" or "unvalidate" (is that a word, lol)it.

It has really saddened me. I just do not understand how anyone can go from a lifetime of being LDS, a temple marriage, children, having a priesthood older in their home and feeling the stirrings of the spirit to not believing. I have had too mnay times where I have felt the sweet wpirit of the lord so strong that I just could not deny it. Granted I may not always live as I should to a "T",(and who does) but I still know that the church is true. I have had my times that I haven't been as motivated to be as spiritual as I could, but I still could never deny that I know the gospel is true.

I guess that I am just simple. The church is true and I know it by how I feel in my heart and when I try to live a Christ-like life. No questions about it, end of story.

I bore my testimony to my friend and had really prayed as to what to say. She thanked me but said that her mind was made up. It made me cry. I truly pray that the spirit may crept into her heart and that she will have a change of heart. I also know that I cannot control how others feel and if she doesn't then I have to accept it. It just breaks my heart.

If anything this experience has really reaffirmed my testimony and motivated me to be a better example to others and read my scriptures more often. I do not ever want to let my guard down. I was also able to asnwer some questions and clear up some misconceptions about the LDS church to some of my non-member friends. You see this friend and I are on a birthclub message board together since the time I was pregnant with Emmalee. I heard some crazy misconceptions too. I am glad that me and a few of the other LDS girls on there were able to clear those up.

Well I am sure that I had more to say but I cannot remember. So I may type some more later.

Oh I forgot to add how sad I was to hear that President Faust passed away this morning. He was such an amazing, sweet, intelligent and wonderful man. He will be missed, but I knw he is in a better place.

Conversation with Emmalee

Emmalee and I were outside and she was picking flowers and told me they were for her wedding. I asked her who she was marrying and I was expecting "Prince Eric" like usual. Nope, apparently she is marrying Marcor Hansen (my friend Kristen's 5 yr old son). She talks about him all the time and she and Dawson went to his party yesterday. So Kristen maybe we will be in-laws someday, lol!!!

Well, it was bound to happen..........

I was watching Shanna's kids for as few hours today. While I was making lunch and getting things for them, I walked in the family room and Mr Peyton was in an anchored sitting position!!!???? He was bent over but his booty was sitting on the floor. One foot was still bent from him getting in the position. He has been somewhat good at ancoring himself when I sit him up and he has been doing sit ups trying to sit up for a while.

The kids swear they didn't put him in that position. So either they really pulled one over on me or he somewhat sat up by himself. I guess it's possible, Emmalee was sitting up and crawling by 6 mos. He is doing a strange inch worm thing to move around and the way he does it I could see how he could get in that position. I will let ya'll know if he does it again. Any how my baby isn't allowed to grow up.

Okay Shanna just came to pick her kids up and I told her. As we were talking, he was on the floor next to us, and he did it again. So now I have someone to proove it, lol. I will film him on my phone later and show you guys!! He is about 75% close to crawling now too.
