Just some random pics

Remember our new Kitty Serafina. I talked about her a few weeks ago. Well it was a rocky start w/ her. She was an abandoned cat and we saved her. At first I had to keep her in the bathroom away from Tallie our other cat.

She wasn't very friendly and would hiss and spit (but never bite or claw thankgoodness!) when we came near her. Well I followed teh advice of a friend on how to tame a wild cat and get your older cat used to a new cat.

At first I didn't think it was gonna work. Tallie was so mean to Serafina. It took one week and now they are playing. Sure Tallie still hisses sometimes, but they are starting to be friends.

Serafina has changed so much. She is so sweet and playful and we love her to death!! Here are some new pics of her:

Isn't she cute!!??

Oh and I got my hair highlighted!! It is a huge change and I love it. It has taken some getting used to. This pic doesn't show how much highlights I have (I have a ton) or howlight it is, but it gives you a bit of an idea:

Well, night-night!

Ouch My Achin' Feet

I sound like an old lady complaining, but man my feet really hurt! It is sad to sound like an old lady at 29, lol. I know the biggest reason is my extra weight, but there are more contributers to the problem.

Mike, the kids and I have started walking almost every night. I push Peyton in the stroller, Mike pulls Emmalee in the wagon (sometimes Dawson too) and Dawson rides his bike. We walk a total of 2 miles a night and hope to get up to 3.

I was really happy today. I can tell I am getting some endurance and the 2 miles didn't hurt like it did at first. Well it didn't hurt until later tonight atleast. My arches are awful from having kids and gaining extra weight. I was sitting down watching a movie and putting my clothes on hangers. I was down for a while. When I got up I wanted to cry because my feet hurt so bad. This usually only happens first thing in the morning.

So now I am dreading getting out of bed in the morning. I can deal with sore muscles, etc. Sore muscles are a positive sign that something is happening. But add sore feet on top of that and it just sucks.

I guess no pain no gain. I have to keep reminding myself that in 40 lbs or so my weight won't affect my feet so much. I have some really nice addidas shoes w/ the spring cushions in back and Dr Scholls gel insoles in them. Does anyone know of a better shoe or insole cushion?? Any other tips??

I did some changes

I was bored and tired of my old blog design, plus the pics were cut-off, so I changed it. I am hoping to have a new family picture up at top w/ all of us soon!

I also wanted to share some of the jewelry I have made over the last few years. I am sure I mentioned before how much I love making jewelry. It started as something to do to kill time while I was on bed rest with Emmalee. I had no idea what I was doing, I just dove in. Then I found out a friend was starting to make jewelry too and she helped me tremendously! THANK YOU SHELL!

It is something I absolutely enjoy. I use it as a stress reliever and motivation sometimes. Sometimes when I don't feel like cleaning or doing something I have to I will make a goal that as soon as I finish (whatever it is I need to do) I will make a piar of earrings or a bracelet. It works.

Here are a few slideshows that I just made for my ebay auctions. If anyone has any ideas on how to make it all in one slideshow.....(darn you photobucket!)..please share!

Well I am off to bed. I was able to catch up on pretty much all my house work today! Mike helped me put laundry away and that helped a ton. Thank You Dear!

I stole this from my friend Kristen

I hope you don't mind that I stole this from your blog Kristen. I love it and now I wanna do a wall hanging of it! I have been kinda bummed cuz I feel like I haven't been caught up on my homemaking, but then this poem puts it all into perspective. Thanks for sharing it Kristen!

Excuse this Home:

Some homes try to hide the fact
That children shelter there
Ours boasts of it quite openly
The signs are everywhere
For smears are on the windows
Little smudges on the door
I should apologize I guess
For the toys strewn on the floor
But I sat down with the children
We played and laughed and read
And if the door bell doesn’t shine
Their eyes will shine instead
For when at times I am forced to choose
The one job or the other
I want to be a homemaker
But first I’ll be a mother

A Mother's Work is Never Done.

I was sick almost all week last week and man did my house pay. I just barely got all the washed clothes from last week folded and put away. I have yet to hang up all the clothes that need to be hung up. Mike promised that when he gets home from scouts tomorrow he will help. So I will just out them in the play room and live by 'out of sight, out of mind'.

For a long time, probably since Peyton was 3 weeks old, I had my whole system down and was caught up and had the house clean every night before bed. I wasn't stressed and I didn't feel like I was cleaning all the time. One week of being sick screwed that up. I am trying to do one room each day. I am hoping that by the weekend I will be caught up and can enjoy getting out...except for the dang heat, lol. I just feel like my head is congested with everything I need to do if my house isn't in order. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have to be immaculate, but I like it to be in some order and clean.

On to other stuff. We got a new kitty. She is still freaked out though, so she is chilling in the bathroom for a few more days. She is so cute and I hope it all works out.

A friend found her, but couldn't keep her because her hubby is allergic. I felt so bad for this little probably 8 week old kitty, so I took her in. I decided that if in a few weeks she isn't tamed, I will take her to an animal rescue. She doesn't bite or scratch, but she hisses and spits. I was able to hold her today though. I hope it works out.

My other Cat Tallie isn't to happy though. She has forgiven me though and let me hold her today. She was hissing if I got near her yesterday though. That is out of the ordinary for her because I am her favorite person. I guess she has some sibling rivalry, lol.

Emmalee named our new kitty Serafina. (Sara-Feen-a). If anyone has girls who love barbie movies you know that is Barbie's cat in Princess and the Pauper. Well last night Serafina scaled the kiddy gate I had up in the bathroom. We looked everywhere for her, but couldn't find her. I heard her meow on the baby monitor, but never found her. Well at 3 am I heard some rustling and her bell on her collar and this is what I found:

lol, can you say that she wanted to hide!! Isn't she a cutie??!!

Well, I am off to bed.

Mommy's little helper!

The other day I was getting ready to feed Peyton and Emmalee begged me to let her feed him. She held him like a pro and fed him the whole bottle!!

She has been such a great helper lately. She helps me bathe him and pick jamies out and put lotion on him. Today she actually asked me if she could help change his diaper, lol. I let her fasten the tabs and she was so proud of herself! I catch her kissing him and all kinds of cute stuff like that. I get the feeling Peyton and being a big sister is growing on her!

Here are a few pics of my stinkers. I realize there are none of Dawson lately and I feel so bad. Summer is coming and I will have LOTS of him then!

Here is Dawson playing with Peyton. He was putting on a puppet show, lol!

Today was such a busy day! I chaperoned Dawson's field trip to the Stuffington Bear factory. It was so fun. They got to stuff and dress teddy bears. I even made one for Emmalee!! I out fairy wings on it! She was so excited. Dawson really enjoyed it.

I met his "girlfriend". Her name is Emily and Dawson is crazy about her. How can he be old enough to have a crush???? Makes me wanna cry. I also met all his friends I hear about all the time. I forgot my camera, grrr. So I took pics on my camera phone and hopefully I can get it off and on here someday, lol.

This weekend was crazy! Mike went hunting and so it was 3 kids against me, lol. It was crazy, but I got thru it and Mike owes me!! A girls night or afternoon out with some friends sounds good to me. I really wish I could take a trip to Utah and visit friends, that would rock. But how can a mom be gone too long??? A mom's work is seriously never done is it??

well that is all for now. I just caught up on weekend chores and my blog, so maybe I need to get some sleep before Peyton wakes up at 5 am!

Being a Mom is such a blessing!

I just love my new baby! I hope no one gets sick of me saying that. Peyton has just made me the happiest I have been in a long time. His sweet smile and laugh just uplift my heart. He is so sweet and easy and so fun!!! I feel so blessed to have his sweet little spirit in my home. I love #3 because I know what I am doing now and Mike isn't working 2 jobs anymore so it has been a much easier, low stress baby time. I love rocking him to sleep and singing to him.I love Dawson and Emmalee and seeing them mature. I love how eager they are to help with their baby brother and how protective they are of him. I love how much they love Peyton and I love when Peyton looks over at them and smiles and laughs.I love how smart Dawson is. I am so impressed with how well he is doing in school. He is learning at a first grade level and doing first grade schoolwork. He is so cute when he tells jokes. He has the kindest heart and would never intentionally hurt anyone.I love how confident and outgoing Emmalee is. She loves making friends. We were at walmart today and the family infront of us had a girl Emm's age. She went right up to her and introduced herself and talked with her. Then she came to me and said "Mommy I made a new girlfriend!". I love how she loves to play tea party and dress-up. My most favorite thing is how much she loves reading books with me.Being a Mommy isn't always easy, but the blessings definetly outweigh the hard times! What do You love about your kids and being a mommy??

Hobbies

I have been bitten by the crafting bug quite a bit lately. I have been making jewelry for a few years, but now I found a new love...sewing. I am not very good yet, but it is so fun! A few friends from my ward and I get together a few times a month to sew. It is a lot of fun. I have made 3 quilts and quite a few burp rags. They are so homeade, complete w/ crooked stitches, but I am very proud and the kids love their quilts so that is all that matters.

Emmalee's, Cinderella ofcourse!

Here is Peyton Modeling his! Please ignore his big spit up spot, lol.

Oh I forgot!!

It has been 2 weeks since I started the weigh watchers meetings again and I have lost 9 lbs!! So I have lost 30 since having Peyton. I have a loooong ways to go but it does feel good. With that said I have had a rough 2 days. I gave in to a few things and I didn't track my food. So I will start a new week tomorrow. I know 2 bad days will not mess my diet up. I am trying not to beat myself up and just start fresh tomorrow.

Mike got a new calling as Assistant Scout Leader at church. He is so cute about it. He told me now he has to get into shape, lol./ So next week after his back feels better (the old man pulled it lol) then we are gonna walk 3x a week and do weights together 3x a week. He is also so excited about the hikes and campouts. He also wants all this equipment we can't afford, lol. Like a GPS system and camping gear. I am happy he is happy though.

This morning was interesting, I was on my way to my friends house to work out. I slaughtered my toe while I was looking for my exercise ball. It bled like crazy too! I thought I had my keys and so the kids and I went out.

I open the van and reach in my purse for my keys....You guessed it NO FREAKIN" KEYS! So I called my brother and they lost our spare grrrr. I called Mike and he came home, but he works an hour away so we waited for an hour outside. Emmalee ran around the yard and had a blast. I was productive and cleaned out my van, lol. I had to do something. Peyton napped most of the time. He never fussed the whole time we were out.

The bright side is Mike is home for the rest of the day. He has stayed an hour later everyday this week so it was no biggie. He is salary so we wouldn't have gotten the extra money anyways. His boss just likes him to work 40 hours each week. When we got home the keys were on my bed.

Look what I get to wake up to every morning!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Aren't you jealous??!!

Okay so he does wake up crying, but then when he sees me he gets the biggest smile ever! He is the happiest baby ever. It doesn't take much to fall in love with him. He also has the cutest Woody Woodpecker laugh ever! I am having the best time having another baby.

Socializing

I was sort of a hermit for a looong time. I think a lot of it had to do with my weight. Lately I have been really working on getting myself out there more. For about 2 years I had a hard time adjusting in my ward (church). I knew people, but I never really put myself out there. I have been going to activities, etc lately. It has made me so much happier.

Most of my friends live over 20 miles or more away so we don't get together that often. So like I said before, I was a bit of a hermit. I would just take the kids out myself no friends etc. Since I have been getting out I am making so many new friends in my ward and having fun things to do a few times a week. I am happier and Emmalee is happier since she can stay at the park longer now and she plays with kids her age.

I notice the things that stressed me at home (chores, etc) don't stress me out as much now because I am not home as much to let them get to me. Plus I manage my time better now and find chores aren't so overwhelming anymore.

It really feels great. I feel like my old social self again. It is so important to keep sight of yourself when you are a mommy. Mike also commented that I am happier and seem more like my old self again.

On to other things..........................

Dawson is almost done with kindergarten. I swear I'm gonna cry when he graduates kindergarten. He is doing so well. He can read whole books if the words aren't too big. He can also add, subtract, count by 5's and 10's, tell time on an old fashioned clock and so many other things. It is the coolest thing to see your child learn and see how smart and capable they are. I am so proud of him!

Emmalee is getting a bit nicer again. She is starting to kiss Peyton and help me more. I was at Weight Watcher's the other day and I was filling something out. I had started to feed Peyton but had to stop. He got fussy and I looked down and Emmalee was feeding him! She is a big helper and I love her so much.

Peyton is babbling, almost rolling over and smiling up a storm. I just love this baby to death! He is so fun and I cannot remember life without him now.

Oh yeah this weight loss thing.....

Um it has been a bit harder this time. I haven't gained, but this last week has been so hard. I am trying to pray more when I have a hard time resisting something. It is hard but oit makes me make a conscious effort to think about what I am gonna put in my mouth and how it will affect me.

I decided that this weekend everything was out the window. I started over this morning and it has been pretty easy. I am walking with from my church in monday and wednsdays. It has been a great outlet and I look forward to getting out so it hasn't felt like exercise. I just need to add 2 days at home. I am gonna get my walk away the pounds dvd's out and start doing those. Emmalee loves doing them too. I carry my weights and she gets 2 soup cans as her weights and does it w/ me, lol. If anything I can think of it as Mom and Emm time and not focus on it being exercise. That seems to make it less appealing to me, lol.

My goal this week is to write everything down, drink more water and exercise on my own 2x a week. Here's to reaching my goals.

Finding humor in things....................

I used to think that I was the most patient person in theworld. When I babysat as a teenager, I thought I was gonna be the best mom in the world. I was attentive to the kids needs and never lost my cool. My friends commented that they liked how I could laugh at my mistakes, etc. Then I became a mom and that was a whole new ball game.

When Dawson was first born, life was pretty easy. Having one kid meant that I still had free hands sometimes, I could nap when he napped and he was a baby and could do no wrong. I fed him perfectly, dressed him perfectly, etc. I had heard people comment on how hard it was to be a stay at home mom and how they never had time to do everything. I just didn't see it....yet. lol

When Emmalee came I understood what those other moms were saying. It wasn't because Emmalee was a super hard baby or Dawson was too demanding. They actually adjusted beautifully to the transition.

I on the other hand didn't have a free hand, my kids weren't always dressed perfectly (unless we were going out). My house and chores started to feel like an enemy that was building up against me. I caught myself thinking a cookie here or there isn;t so bad or *the old me shuddered at this* Dawson can have a bit of soda if it will keep him happy.

Then there was the aspect of myself. I had gained ALOT of weight. I wasn't able to do my hair makeup or shower everyday. I was so preoccupied with everything else that I had lost site of my self and why I was doing this thing called motherhood. I had a rough time for a bit.

Juggling all of the motherhood balls got harder. Don't get me wrong I LOVE being a mom, but it isn't easy. I felt like I might have to get another hand or juggle them with my feet. The patience I had mentioned having as a teenager had decided to up and run away. I had no idea where she went.

Now I have struggled on and off with having some patience back and feeling caught up on the house or what not. I realized that I was letting everything get to me and I was wound up way too tight. Through the years I have found ways to adjust.

One thing I have learned is that I have to have time for myself and something to look forward to everyday. Somedays that is shopping or getting out alone and somedays it is just to get a shower early in the morning or get dressed and do my makeup even if I am not going out. Those things have helped alot. Still my patience wasn't quite where I wanted it to be.

I was talking to my best friend a while ago and we got on the subject of how motherhood is harder than we thought it would be. She said they had talked about that in relief society. Her Relief Society President commented that she learned never pray for patience. She said you will get the hardest trials of your life that way. Instead she said to learn to find humor in things, even when your kids are driving you nuts. Look for the small things that make you happy. That is my new goal. I want to be a calmer mommy and I think this is a good thing to master. I think (and hope) life can be a lot easier if you look at the world that way!

Back on the weight loss wagon

I joined weight watcher's again, this time online. I hope I can keep myself motivated on my own. I have gained so much back and I am embarrassed to admit how much I have gained. I am starting tomorrow morning. My goal is to lose atleast 5 lbs the first week. I always lose a lot the first 2 weeks.

I am not happy this size and miss being smaller. I am not gonna let it get me down though. I know I can lose the weight, I have done it before. I plan on walking everyday and doing a workout video 3x a week.

So my blog will be for weight loss again..along with life as a mama and all my other ramblings.

Here is to fitting in my old clothes again in a few months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now a Mama of 3!!!

Introducing my newest little man Peyton!

Peyton was born on 2/21/2007. Here is his birthstory:

Well on 2/21/07 I woke up at 5:30 am with a very painful contraction. I thought nothing until I kept getting them every 10-15 minutes. I xcalled Mike because he had already left for work and told him I wasn’t sure if I was in labor, but this might be it. I tolod him to just keep heading to work and I would let him know if it got worse.

At 7:30 they were still coming so I called my sil and told her I may need them to come over. I said I wanted to give it 20 more minutes and I would call back. Then they were coming 5 minutes apart, but I still wasn’t sure because some weren’t very strong and then they would spread out again.

My brother called me back a few minutes later and said he didn’t care if I didn’t know if I was in labor, he was coming. They got there at 8, Mike was already on his way to the hospital and had insisted that I go too. Mike got there before us!

On the way there they were 3 minutes apart and then they spread out again. I had to use breathing and I was realizing I was in labor, lol.

We got there and they checked me. I was at a 5! So obviously I was admitted. The contractions were 10 minutes apart again. I got my epidural around 10 am and thankfully since the contractions were 10 minutes apart they were able to give it to me quickly and it took effect! (I went so fast w/ Emm that they couldn’t get it in right, and when they finally did, it was time to push, sonit never took effect). When we were first there I told Mike I think 3 is good, lol. After the epi, I told him I could handle having a 4th!

My BP didn’t go up too high, and I felt pretty good for most of the labor. There was a point that I had to have oxygen, because I wasn’t breathing well and Peyton’s hear rate went down. By 12:30 I was at a 9.5. My Dr broke my water around 12:45 or so. I pushed for 10 minutes or so. Peyton came out very fast, and unfortunately his cord was very short and wrapped around his neck. I wasn’t totally aware of this till he was out and on the table. He was very purple. I heard one of the nurses say bag him. I started crying and asked what was going on and the Dr told me. He kept reassuring me that he would be okay.

It took them what seemed like an eternity to get him to pink up, but he did! They put oxygen on him, let me hold him for a second and whisked him off to the special care nursery. As soon as I could walk around I was in there. It was the longest couple hours of my life waiting to go see him. I went and fed him for all his feedings that day. They kept him in the nursery over night just to observe him. By ten the next morning he was in my room.

He is doing so well. We were so blessed that he was able to recuperate so well. I keep thanking Heavenly Father for not answering my prayers when I prayed he would come out earlier. He was so tiny and with what happened at birth I am so happy that he came when he could handle his birth better.

He is such a wonderful baby. He has a quiet cry and looks and acts so much like Dawson did as a newbie. The nurses in the nursery were concerned because he was so quiet. I knew that all was okay because Dawson was like that.
He weighed 6 lbs, 10 oz and was 21 inches long!

He has been such a blessing, and we love him so much! He is so easy and has such a sweet spirit! I am on cloud nin over him. I thank the lord about a million times a day for Peyton and Dawson and Emmalee.

Being a mom is not always easy, but I LOVE being a mommy. I Love seeing my kids together and watching them grow. It is truly the best thing I have ever done!

Feeling blah

I have been sick all week. I feel like I have been sick more with this pregnancy with my other two. It seems like I get a few days or a week break and then I am sick again. I have a bad cold and I had a somach bug today. Thankfully the bug is going away but the cold is still here and getting worse. I am so tired and in need of good sleep.

Then I just feel blah and huge and akward. My body still hurts and I am swollen. I have been snoring really bad lately. It is a combo of my cold and being 8 mos preggo. As a result poor Mike has had to sleep in the guest room a lot over the last few weeks. I am giving him a break and sleeping out there a few nights a week so he can get more comfortable sleep w/out any interruptions.

I am just glad that the end is in sight. It is all worth it in the end. I just can;t wait to have Peyton in my arms. I find myself thinking about him soo much and wondering what he will look like, etc. I am so antsy to see my other 2 kids with him and have my family complete.

I feel so blessed to be the Mother of Dawson and Emmalee. They are the cutest, sweetest, most wonderful kids. Ofcourse I am a bit biased, lol. I love them more than I could even express. Holding them and kissing them is the most peaceful, joyful feeling.

Emmalee is really maturing. I am using a new form of discipline on her. I have been reading...very slowly..Love and Logic. I really like it. It basically nurtures, but also teaches them to think of solutions for themsleves, w/ mom and dad's guidance ofcourse. It really promotes self esteem and has totally dropped the amount of arguments and power struggles we have with Emmalee.

When she is acting up or won't do what ask, I give her choices. Such as say she won't pick up her toys. I will tell her she has a choice she can pick up her toys now or in 5 minutes. Then I let her know that if she chooses not to pick them up, I will put them on the shelf in the closet and she will not get them back till tomorrow. She did choose first not to pick them up. I took them away without making a seen or saying anything more about it. Since then she has been pretty good about picking her toys up. I use that method with other things too.

I have only read a bit of the book. I got it right before Christmas. It has been a busy 2 weeks. I hope once Dawson starts school again and I feel better I can read the rest. So far I really like the methods though. It makes the kids feel like they are in contro somewhat, but yet it is really me that is in control. I have hardly argued with her in 2 weeks.

Emmalee has become more affection lately. I was in bed a lot today and she stayed by my side. We watched TV and played. She would rub my head and say "Mommy sick. Mommy feeel better" or she will hug me and say "Mommy, I Wub You! You my best friend". Today she said "Mommy I wub yoo tooo much!"

She is at such a fun age. She loves to talk and ask questions. She loves barbies and princesses and is always in a dress-up dress. I am having so much fun with her.

Dawson has been home since the 20th on break. He misses school. I am a bit sad that he starts back on Monday. He has been so helpful and he and Emm have actually played well and not fought too much lately. He has been a big help this week while I was sick.

He is so smart and loves to learn. This kid is full of questions and loves to know everything. He has the most contagious laugh and is always happy.

He has really stepped up and loves to help around the house. He insists on vacuuming and sweeping every night. He is doing things right when I ask, or even sometimes I don't even have to ask. He has the sweetest soul and I love hin so much.

he is so excited about havibg a brother. Everytime it is his turn to pray he thanks Heavenly Father for Peyton and asks that "Mommy and Baby Peyton will be healthy and strong." He talks to my belly and is always asking how many more days till Peyton is here. He says he is going to teach him to walk and talk and play with cars. lol.

I just love my kids so much. I am so excited to have another one to love. I already love him, but can't wait for him to be here and for that love to grow everyday. I am so blessed to be a mommy!

Well my benadryl is making me drowsy, so I am going to attempt to fall asleep now. nite-nite.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is 2 am on January 1st 2007 and I cannot sleep. I am hitting that point where Peyton is most active at night..when I want to sleep. He is getting so big and every little movement is BIG, lol.

Things are going better in a lot of ways. I have been going to my OB every 2 weeks since 24 weeks due to my high blood pressure. He put me on 250 mg of Aldomet 3 itmes a day at 25 weeks. Then at 27 weeks he he increased it to 500 mg 3 times/day. That is what he had me on at the end with Dawson and Emmalee and it didn't help. Well, thankfully it is working right now! My last 2 appts, I have had readings of 125/70 and 112/73! I am very happy and I can tell a HUGE difference in hopw I feel. I really notice it when I forget to take a dose.

The only thing now is that my whole lower body hurt really bad. I dread getting out of bed, sitting too long, walking, turning positions in bed, etc. Thankfully Mike and the kids have really stepped up to help me.

I am right at 30 lbs now and hope not to gain more than 40 *crosses fingers*. I had failed my 1 hour glucose test. I t6ook the 3 hour a few weeks ago and found out on my b-day that I passed. That was the best b-day present. I was so scared of getting gestational diabetes. I couldn;t handle having 2 reasons to be classified as a high risk pregnancy. Diabetes runs in my family and I will be 30 next year, so it scares me a little. Okay it scares me a lot.

I have made a pact to start losing weight againa week after Peyton is born. I plan on exercising 4 times a week or more. I will walk Emmalee and Peyton to pick up Dawson from his bus a mile away. Then I have some workout dvd's and I told Mike I want an exercise bike for our anniversary. So I can mix up the workouts. Then we have my brothers weight training system because it didn;t fit at his house and I will do that 3 time a week. That with weight watchers will do it again!

Peyton is doing great. I had a 32 week ultrasound just to make sure my hypertension didn't decrease my fluid levels or do any damage to him. He look wonderful and healthy. We got some great headshots of him. His face is shaped and aligned like Dawson's from what I can see. It made me so antsy to see him. Oh and the second ultrasound confirmed that the first one is right and he is a boy!!!

Here are some shots of my little man!

I also threw in a few holiday ones of Dawson and Emmalee. They are from Christmas eve in their new PJ's and a few weeks before that when they made a gingerbread house. They had a blast this Christmas. their fave gift is definetly the trampoline. They play on it every chance they get!

Mike got me some great gifts this year! He got me a new dinnerware set that I love! I got some porcealin bakeware, some new glassware and flatware, curve crush cologne and a nice fleecy robe. For my Bday he got me a web cam and a sewing machine! My Best Friend moved to North Carolina and we had talked about getting web cams to talk for free and so our kids could talk and see eachother. Now we can! I am slowly learning to sew. It is gonna take a while, lol. Then with my bday money from my mom and in-laws I got a new iPod shuffle! It is a 1 gig and it is sooooo much smaller and nicer than my old one. The kids took off with the old one and I have yet to find it.

Emmalee is getting a little easier lately. NOt sure why, but I am happy. things have been a lot less stressful. dawson is doing great in school and is reading a little more and even doing basic adding and subtracting! My baby is growing up *sniff-sniff*.

Well the benadryl is finally kicking in so I am out. I hope everyone has an incredible and safe 2007!!!

Feeling a little down....

I went to my OB on tuesday. I had a feeling it wouldn't be a great appointment. Since last week, I could tell my blood pressure was elevated. I had started getting headaches, dizziness and just couldn';t keep up with normal daily activities. I had checked my BP last friday and it was around 155/85! Not super high, but not good, especially at 6 months pregnant.

When I went to my OB appointment, my blood pressure was 147/76. So my Dr. decided to put me on Aldomet again, just like my other 2 pregnancies. This time I am on 250 mg 3X a day. I am also on light bed rest. I am not allowed to do much that will get my heart rate up. So minimal housework, minimal getting out, etc. On one hand I am relieved because all of this has zapped my energy completly. On the other hand it makes me feel so lazy. I also have to see the Dr. every 2 weeks now.

The Aldomet makes me so tired and I am experiencing headaches. I don't remember feeling this way last time. I need to call my OB on it, but I want to give it a few more days to see if it changes. I feel like my morning dose almost knocks me out. Not good with a 2 yr old. I have been able to get Emm to take her nap in the morning the last few days because she has been sick w/ allergies. Thank you benadryl. That won't last long though.

I am a little worried. This is the earliest I have ever had to be on meds and bed rest for the high blood pressure. I am 25 weeks. With Dawson I was 34 weeks when I started meds, with Emm I believe it was 32 weeks. Can't remember for sure though??

It scares me when I am up doing normal stuff and I get a headache and pounding head and I can literally feel the blood rushing to my head. I am afraid of toxemia, stroke, etc. I need to take it easier than I am, but it is all I can do to keep off my feet as much as I have. I hate asking Mike to do things for me all the time. I don't want to be a nag. Then if I don't ask it won't get done.

I have been having the kids help more. It can be painstaking, but it has helped a lot. They have always picked up their toys. Now they also pick up trash, other stuff, round up their dirty laundry and take it to the laundry room. Dawson has been folding/putting his laundry away for a while, now we are working on Emm. I fold all the other laundry and M ike puts it all away. Dawson is incharge of sweeping the floors and vacuuming the rugs, Mike mops. I still do dishes since there isn't a ton of bending and moving with that. I have to feel like I am doing something.

Luckily we have a year supply of just about everything we need from soap to meals for next to nothing I might add. Thank you coupons!! We have a ton of frozen meals and boxed meals I have bought over the last month or so. So dinners are simple and make the clean up minimal.

I bought Emm Dora candyland, princess memory, cinderella color wonder books, and some puzzles that we can play with on the couch or bed. We read a lot when I don't have a headache. We also watch TV and talk. I miss our polay groups and going to the park though. I need to find somethinsg to keep me off my feet now and entertain me so I don't get too bummed.

Peyton is growing great. His heartrate was 155 on tues. I am measuring on time. I don't get more than 2-5 contractions a day now. That makes me happy! I will be induced somewhere between 37 and 38 weeks as long as my blood pressure stays stable. So 82-89 days left!!!

I will be so happy when he is my arms!!!! Sadly we decided that he will be our last. I am afraid to go thru thgis after 30. I will be 29 when he is born. We may adopt down the read though. I have always had 4 kids in my mind.

Sorry my post is down. I am just scared, tired and bummed.

I love and admire my husband

He has been such a support thru this pregnancy. He was working 2 jo0bs thru my other 2 pregnancies so he wasn't there to help aas much, even though he wanted to. Anyways I am sick, again. Grrrr. I stayed home from church and slept most of the day, since it was the only day I could rest and recooperate.

I woke up and he and Dawson were cleaning the living room and had finished the kitchen. I hadn't even hinted or asked. He got the kids ready for bed and everything. It was such a great thing for him to do!

I admire him for his hard work. He started working as an entry level draftsman 4-5 years ago. He has gone above and beyond what his work detail is and he is now doing electrical engineer and designing work. He is such a conscientious, hard worker and he does so much to support us. Plus he is going back to school for accounting. He is working so hard and he is so smart.

I love him so much. he is my bestf riend. I love that we can just hang out doing nothing but talking and watching TV and it is so much fun. I have felt closer to him in the last year than I have in a long time.

Do you ever feel like you are in a rut?

I am feeling that way lately. I feel like everyday is the same. It has been so hot this week that Emm and I can't get to the park. The only thing we get out for is grocery shopping or to get some lunch. I have been too tired to do much else. I don't even do my hair or make up. That would probably make a big difference. I just feel like everyday is the same. I am not depressed or anything. I am just having a phase where I don't feel like doing much. Maybe part of it is that I am just so tirede and hormones.

I have been having fun with Emm though. We go on "lunch dates" and read lots of books and talk. She is so goofy and silly. I think I am just feeling hard on myself because I usually do more than I have been. I have been trying to only have 2-3 days a week where I deep clean. Those are usually Mon, Wed and thurs. Mike has school on Mon and Wed so I do it when he is in class and the kids are in bed. It has given me more down time and time with Emm.

I think I just need to have time for myself. I miss having my weight watchers meetings and I even miss school, because it was for me. I need a project or something. I also know I need to read my scriptures and pray more. I am such a slacker. That would really help me.

I need to try to have a few days a week with a plan so Ihave soething new to look forward to. I am going to lunch w/ my best friend and getting my nails done next week. That will be fun!

That is the ramblings in my mind right now.

We are pleased to announce that............................

Our baby is a BOY! We both thought it was a boy. When the Tech said it was a boy Dawson turned to Mike and said "I told you guys!". It is a good thing it is a boy because Dawson has been adament that it is a boy. We are very excited and his name will be Peyton Andrew Price. Peyton is for Mike's favorite football player, Peyton Manning, and Andrew is after my lil brother who passed away at 7 weeks old from Meningitis. He was just 13 mos younger than me, so I never knew him.

Peyton is healthy and measuring 2 days ahead of my EDD, so he is basically right on time! He has loooong skinny legs, just like Dawson and Emmalee. His organs look good and he is the cutest little ultrasound baby in the world, lol. The ultrasound tech said he is one of the most active babies she has seen in a long time. I can't wait to meet him and have our family complete!

I love seeing the kids excitment! Dawson is estatic! He told me he will teach the baby to talk and run and play, just like he did w/ Sissy. lol. Emmalee seems to get it. She is only 2.5 so it really suprises me. Dawson was her age when she was born and he was oblivious to it all. She kept pointing to the u/s computer and saying "Dat ma baby in mommy's tummy!".

Emm and I were at the park today and she was introducing herself to all the kids there saying "Hi my name is Sissy. I have a baby in my tummy (she proceeded to show her belly then)What your name?" It was very cute!

I am excited to shop. Since it has been over 5 yrs since I have had a baby boy, I need to buy a lot of new boys clothes. I also want to get a new bedding set. I used the noah's ark theme for Dawson and Emm and I am sick of it, lol.

There is lots of excitment today!

16 weeks..21-22 weeks to go!

I heard my little beans heartbeat!! It was 155. All my kids have been around there so no prediction from that. At first he couldn't find it. He went right around where the middle of my uterus was and nothing. Then he went lower and voila. I always carry very low...not fun near the end, except labor is faster, .

I opted not to take the triple screen again. I have seen too many false positives and don't want to worry. Besides that I will love this baby no matter what so it doesn't matter to me. He wants me to wait till 18 weeks to get my u/s :(. I called right after I got out of the office to make my appt. they said "Wanna come in tomorrow?". I so wanted to say yes! My appt is 9/20 at 3:30. I can't wait to find out what this baby is and see my baby again!!

My BP was 135/70..not bad for me. I only gained 1/2 a pound, yay me! So I went and got a wendy's frosty to celebrate!

I am so tired, but very happy. I noticed something today. I was talking with a friend about wishes. I realized I may not have a perfect life, but I must be pretty satisfied. It took me forever to think of a wish. I finally thought have having my home remodeling done. I have a wonderful husband, 2 gorgeous kids, I am carrying a healthy baby. I have great friends, I am atleast halfway done with school, Mike got a raise again! I am happy with my life.

We went camping up near Sunrise Ski Resort this weekend. It was deep in the mountains. I couldn;t believe how lush and green the forest was this year. That is what happens when you actually have a summer monsson season. It was absolutely beautiful! We saw a bear. I wish I could have found my camera. I still haven't found it.

My only disappointment was that I did not see one Elk or Deer this year. I have been up there 7 times for labor day. Each year we see less and less deer and elk. The first 3 years there were tons. Before we had kids we used to take midnight four wheeler runs. I remember on year we rode around Green's Peak and rode almost alonside about 20 Elk. It was awesome. So I was sad at seeing none. They are gorgeous animals!

The kids had a blast playing with their cousins. Poor Emmalee. She was playing with some bubbles and got them all over her hands and rubbed her eyes. We had to flush her eyes. She did not like that. Mike's cousin had some eye patch bandages. She really didn't need it, but she kept saying : "I want Ban aid". So we put one on and she was happy. I am waiting for my MIL to send pics of her with her patch, lol.

It rained a lot. It didn't get too heavy, more of just drizzly. We watched movies nad played cards in the tents alot.

It was a very nice and relaxing weekend. I look forward to next year. We will have an addition to our brood. This will be the first time that only one person on Mike's side of the family will ahve a new baby. Usually there are atleast 2 new babys every 2-3 years. There are 8.5 grandkids. It is cute to see them growing up and loving eachother!

Friday, August 25, 2006

I am either 14 weeks one day or 15 weeks 5 days preggo today..who knows, lol. I have been feeling this baby move and slither for a few weeks. Today I am feeling definant kicks. It is such an awesome feeling and I am relishing it since it might be the last time I experience this. I have loved this baby since before I even got preggo, but it is so incredible how much closeness and love you feel when you finally feel the baby move. It is like a confirmation and connection. I love it!!!

In a few short weeks we will find out who this bean is. I should have my big u/s in 2-3 weeks. I can't wait! I wanna know if we are having a boy or girl.

I wonder if I still have readers, lol.

It seems like I don't have time to get on more than once a month now. Things are busy. I have to drive Dawson to school every morning and pick him up and I have just been having fun having alone time w/ Emmalee! On top of that I have been ultra tired. I wake up on empty. I am still able to keep up with everything, barely. I am 14 or almost 16 weeks according to my 2 due dates. The tiredness should be gone. Mike reminded me that I have 2 kids and a big house to keep up with, so no wonder I am tired. It is sweet that he understands.

I am feeling the baby move and I am loving it! So I am guessing that my due date is closer to the almost 16 weeks edd. We shall see. I should find out in about 3-4 weeks what we are having. I am so excited!!! I think we have settled on names.

Girl: Brynnlee Laurise (Brynn for short) Laurise is my MIL and mom's middle names together (Laura and Louise)

Boy: Peyton Andrew. Peyton is Mike's fave boys name and I love it too. Andrew is after my baby brother that died at 7 weeks of spinal meningitis.

Dawson is so excited about the baby. He asks me almost every day how big the baby is now or if the baby can hear or cry yet, lol. Emmalee on the other hand is in denial. She will tell you where the bab y is, but if you ask her if she wants a baby you get a flatout "NO!"> lol she will have to get over it eventually right? She will stick her belly out and tell us she has a baby in her tummy, lol.

That is all for now.

I feel like I am finding confidence again

I have never had a lot of confidence with my intelliegance. I am dyslexic and it really hits me hard in math, especially complex math or counting lots of money. I had lots of jobs that got my confidence down because of that. I have also felt like my opinions are always important or solid enough to be sure of. It seems like it is changing a little.

I am working on a paper for an English class. The paper is on Global Warming. At first I was at a lose. I had to come up with three theories as to why it has come about. I only had the pollution/greenhouse effect. Then I got deeper into the research and found a correlation between the sun's heat rising. My last theory which I still need to find more evidence on is the earth's natural process. I have half of my first paper rough-drafted. I just need to add concrete evidence and quotes.

My last paper I get to choose one of those theories and take a stand on it. I am going to do the Greenhouse effect because it is more aboundant in research. I feel like I am using my brain for more than doing the family budget and changing diapers. It is such a gratifying feeling. I actually feel skind of smart!

I have always put off getting my degree and even when I started I was scared and had little faith in myself. Lately I am not so scared. I have confidence that I will be able to teach. I still have a lot to learn, but I can't wait to do it. I am also excited to take the classes to teach my kids and help them with school. I have a new confidence and I hope it will continue to grow and my experience will help me be a better teacher.

The only part that makes me nervous is lesson plans and organizing and creating them. Will I be able to make lessons long enough and organized enough. A friend told me not to worry cuz that is why you major in teaching, so they can teach you how to do it. I am just not a nagtural, orgaized planner. I am a procrastinator. So I hope to change that. I am so excited about starting the teaching program.

Another thing I am thinking about is how it will be after the kids are all in school. I love being a SAHM and I will NOT change that. It is so embedded inme. My mom wasn't able to stay home with us. She had to be the primary bread winner since my dad was so sick. She did her best, but had so much stress that she wasn't home in the morning to make sure we were presentable for school. I looked pretty funny most of the time. I didn't have a mom that kept a good eye on my school work or made sure I did it. I want a schedule where I can do that.

I love being home with my kids. I will stay home till my last kid is in school. I have decided atleast for the first few years I want to substitute teach. I can have a more flexible schedule and not have to deal with grading and lesson plans and have more time for the kids. Then when they are older I will settle in with my own class.

Anyways I have been thinking about how exciting it will be to have a career. Also the thought of having a 2 income household sounds awesome. Still I will hold off till the all kids are in school. Being a SAHM mom is worth the sacrafices to me. Then when the kids are older and our whole family is here we will have the money to have a lot of fun.

Those are my brain ramblings tonight.

It's been a while.......

Things have been busy here. My due date has changed from 2/12 to 2/22. So instead of 10 w 4d, I am at 9 weeks now. I went in for my u/s last week and that is when my edd changed. Oh well. My Dr said that since I will be most likely having my baby early, it is better to keep the later due date just to be safe. I was able to see the baby's little heartbeat. That is always such a relief and wonderful thing to see. It feels so much more real now.

I am so excited about having another lil one! It hasn't been easy though. I have never had morning sickness before, but with this one I do. I have only thrown up once though, so I thank my lucky stars for that. I have been taking Unisom and Vitamin B6 and that helped for a few weeks. It isn't helping so much anymore. I have been feeling nauseous on and off throughout the day now. It atleast helps me to know my pregnancy is going good if I feel like crap, lol.

I think the biggest thing making me sick is the heat. It has been over 110 forever now. I feel like I am so lazy all the time. I usually love taking my kids out and doing fun stuff, not anymore. I can't wait till the heat is gone.

I am taking a english class this summer. It has been so crazy. It will be over in 2 weeks and I will be so happy. I am taking a break from school till after the baby is born. I am going to go to Ottawa University. I had a few pre req's to finish befor I could transfer to ASU and then I would have to wait till the kids are in school to do it. At Ottawa, I have enough pre req's to start the teaching program and I can take it at my own pace, even one class at a time. So hopefully I can be finished by the time my last baby starts school. I feel really good about this decision! So probably in april or so I will start again, 1 class at a time. I am so happy I am going back to finish my degree. It hasn't been easy, but it is something important to me.

Dawson starts Kindergarten on 8/9. Then on 8/13 my baby will be 5. It is kinda freaky. I cried his 1st day of preschool and that was 3 hours 3 days a week. Now it is 5 days a week and all day school. I am gonna miss him. Though at times I can't wait for school to start. He is so bored at home. It will be neat to have some alone time with Emmalee before the baby comes. I love those kids so much. I look at them and I can't believe they are mine. I feel blessed.

I love my husband so much. he has been so helpful around the house. I haven't been feeling so good and I have been so busy with research papers, so he has help so much. He is also being supportive about lightening my babysitting load now. I got rid of 2 kids that were a ton of hours. I will be watching 2 kids (a boy Emmalee's age and a newborn baby girl) starting in September. It will be 1.5 days a week. The best part is I will make about $400/month for that 1.5 days a week. I feel I can handle that.. It would be all day monday and about 4 hours on wed. I can do it.

Well, I am off to bed.

Well...............

I just found out that I am preggo! I took a test last week that had the {+}/(-) results. I was a retard and read it wrong. I saw 2 lines and was estatic! Well I posted on my birthclub, called Mike, etc. Then I realized I read it wrong. Well I bought a test w/ just 2 lines as the result and well, I got 2 lines! I am still in shock. It was faint, but it was there! I didn't keep track this month but I am guessing I am due on Feb 13th!

I have been in a slump

I am gonna try to get out of it though. I haven't been good or true to myself in a lot of ways. It is just easier not to do anything sometimes, but it sure doesn't feel as good. Know what I mean? I have gained 20 lbsm, and I can't get back on track. I can think of a million things that keeps me from doing it, the key I guess is to just push those things out and just do it like I did before. I can't fit into any of my jeans, so I am just wearing gouchos, skirts and sweats..pretty much anything without buttons :(. I sold all my close from this size. So if I gain anymore weight I will have to be naked. That should be motivation, right? I have just let the stress get to me and so I eat. I need to get back into doing other thnings like clean or bead when I am stressed.

I am very happy that I will hardly be babysitting at all this summer..just like 2 hours a day, during naptime..so hard huh? lol. One of my friends is going to be doing a stirytime play group every monday. They will have playtime, a craft, storytime and snack time. It will take the place of the family fun van since they can't do it during the summer due to the heat. Then on Wed they have storytime at the library, the evenings will be for swimming lessons for the kids and I want to go play at the mall park once a week and swim once a week. I want to keep busy and have a blast with my kids this summer.

Dawson will be starting kindergarten August 8th, and it is all day (8:30-2:50) so my window with him is almost closed. I thought it was with preschoool, but that was only 3 days a week for 3.5 hours. This is all day. It makes me sad. He had his preschool graduation yesterday. We videotaped and filmed it. They played the graduation music, and they walked up and got their "diploma. They had little paper crowns that they had their names on and decorated. It was really cute.

His teacher's all said how much they are going to miss him. One of the aides said that he was the sweetest, most well behaved kid of all of them! I love hearing that. His speech teacher commented on how far he has come. I am so happy with the work they did. I was really the only one who understood him when he started and he would hardly talk or look at other people before. Now everyone can understand him and he is social! The letter F is the only one he still has trouble with. I am a pleased and proud momma! I can't believe he will be 5 in August!

He will actually start Kindergarten 5 days before he turns 5. I have had a few people say that their kids weren't ready to start kindergarten right when they turned 5. Their kids got held back. I feel very good in my decision. His teacher and speech teacher are very confident that he is ready for kindergarten. Plus he will be going to a really awesome charter school. He has been on the waiting list since he was Emm's age. They have a back to basics philosophy. They have the spalding phonetics program, which is the best for teaching phonics and reading. They have art, music, spanish, etc. The coolest thing is that they have different levels of each grade. It gets around the "No one is left behind" law. So in each grade he will be at his level. It is a great school that I hear nothing but good things about.

Emmalee is a full fledge kid now! It is crazy how fast time goes by. SHe can say just about anything. It is weird, when you call her name she will say "What?" if yo say no she will ask "Why". She comprehends so much at 2. He talking is awesome. She doesn't have the speech problem Dawson had. She loves dress up. She wears her "Cinderella Pretties" all day.

I just love my kids so much! I am a blessed Mommy! I am excited to have time with them this summer!

I am making a vow this summer to have fun with my kids, lose weight, get my house organized and get more social. My best friend is mving to North Carolina next week. I am gonna bawl like a baby when she leaves. I know I need to get out of my comfort zone and get involved more with my other friends. I used to have the easiest time making friends. DOn't get me wrong I have a lot of friends, but I really don't hang out with anyone. I am afraid to try for anothe rbest friend cuz it takes a lot of time and work and I just get afraid it won't happen so I don't try. I need to get out of my comfort zone I guess. I do wanna be social like I used to be.

We have been TTC since March and Nada. I know it really isn't that much time, but for me it is. I got preggo with Dawson the first month and Emm came from a few missed BCP's. So this is a long time to me. I am okay with it, except that I am afraid I am gonna get too comfortable with my two that i won't want more if it takes too long. I might just be keeping my hopes down so I don't get disapointed. Who kows. All I can say is that it gives me more time with my two kiddos though. Maybe it isn't the right time. I am just putting it in God's hands and when it is time it will happen.

Go Phoenix Suns! They are doing awesome! I wanna see them go all the way! I think watching a good basketball game is one of my fave things to do with my hubby. We have a blast!

Sorry for all the rambling, I am just getting my thoughts out.

Deep thoughts by Patti

Well it is almost 1 am so maybe this will only make sense to me. I was listening to some old tunes from highschool. Of course I began to reminisce. I thought of things in the past. Ofcourse everything in the past is glorified. You see it thru rose colored glasses..well for the most part. Then I remembered how stressful certain times were, I had put the bad behind me. Why is it hard to see the forest for the trees during certain times? It's kind of funny.

I got my IUD out today!

I had some cramping afterwards, but I am so excited! My Dr said that as long as I have a normal period next week (It was just spotting I had this week) we can TTC this month! He told me he hopes to see me in 2-3 months! I so hope. I have always gotten preggo easy before. I just get scared this time I won't. He gave me a prescription for chewable prenatals! I hate my Target horsepill prenatals. These are big horsepills too but atleast they are chewable and taste somewhat like vitamin C. Mike is so excited! It is so weird he wasn't completly ready with Dawson, but he knew it was time, Emm was a suprise and he was scared for a few days, but now he is so ready!

My little princess will be 2 tomorrow! I am happy but sad that she is no longer a baby. I bought some heart pancake milds and I am gonna make her a Princess pancake breakfast in the morning! She has been telling everyone that she is two and that she is gonna have a Ci-rella (Cinderella) party!

Well, Dawson is calling me and I have a huge mess to clean so thar's it for now

Have I mentioned...................

That I really don't enjoy babysitting? I have only been back to it for 2 weeks and I am already burnt out. I get annoyed with the screaming, hyperness, disobedience, crying, messes, kids not listening to me, other kids bad habit rubbing off on mine, putting my schedule on hold, not being able to make all the Dr appts, etc that I need to make, not being able to get out with just my kids, naptime wars and ost of all it takes so much time away. I just want a break

Some days I don't mind babysitting, but today I am just done. Sorry to vent but I am so tired. I cleaned till 2 am this morning and woke up at 5:30 to babysit. Maybe that is why I am burnt out??? I just want to go back to bed...... Plus I love when it is just me and my kids only .
